History

The location of Sochi Autodrom makes it special - the circuit is located in the Olympic Park, which hosted the Olympic Winter Games in 2014. Sochi is located at the Black sea with a hint of the mediterranean style.

The venue has been designed by Russian experts in conjunction with Hermann Tilke.

The circuit consists of 12 right- and six left-hand corners and runs in a clockwise direction. The track with a length of 5,854 kilometres combines both high-speed and technical sections.

The most interesting part of the track is its long turn 3 – the 650-metre turn is the longest one in the Formula 1 calendar, and the negative incline of the surface is a difficult challenge for the drivers.

Winner 2016: Nico Rosberg
