Max wins Sprint and Race in Singapore

12/10/26
Max Verstappen was the dominant force of the Formula 1 weekend in Singapore. The Red Bull driver won both Saturday’s action-packed Sprint and Sunday’s Grand Prix, celebrating his first Grand Prix victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Starting from pole position, Verstappen controlled the 62-lap race to claim victory on his 250th Formula 1 start, finishing ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. The two McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, finished fourth and fifth, followed by Lewis Hamilton in the second Ferrari. The remaining points-paying positions went to Liam Lawson, Nico Hülkenberg, George Russell and Isack Hadjar. Saturday’s rain-affected Sprint had already provided plenty of drama, including a crash involving Russell and a collision between the two McLaren drivers. In the World Championship standings, Kimi Antonelli extended his lead over George Russell to 102 points. The young Italian could secure his first Formula 1 World Championship title as early as the next race in Austin, Texas.
