Kimi Antonelli dominated the Monaco Grand Prix and claimed an unchallenged victory from pole position. Max Verstappen stalled on the grid from second place and was forced to retire immediately. Numerous penalties – which were later found to have been issued in error due to incorrect speed measurements – threw the race result into chaos. Drivers such as George Russell, who had already served their penalties, ultimately missed out on the points. Pierre Gasly inherited third place from Isack Hadjar following a protest in Barcelona. Lewis Hamilton confirmed his strong form by finishing second and returning to the podium once again, moving up to second place in the World Championship standings. His teammate Charles Leclerc, however, suffered heartbreak in his home race, crashing out of the Grand Prix. Behind fifth-placed Oscar Piastri, Liam Lawson, Arvid Lindblad, Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso also scored valuable championship points. World Champion Lando Norris, meanwhile, was among the race’s retirements.
