CIRCUIT DE MONACO
26/05 - 29/05/2016

The 73rd Grand Prix and the 63rd Grand Prix with Formula 1-Siegel will take place in Monaco in 2016.

The race track in Monaco is the most spectacular racetrack of any of the Formula 1 tracks and winds a circuit through the middle of the metropolis of the Monegasque Principality. The track is both hated and loved by drivers and teams alike, loved for the glamorous media trappings, hated due to difficult working and driving conditions as well as outdated safety standards.

Drivers who want to have a go at the 3.337 kilometer long track featuring tight curves, numerous uneven patches, manhole covers and road markings, have to score big in the qualifying round. Overtaking other drivers is virtually impossible, due to the track’s narrow width. To ensure optimum output, the wings of the race car bodies are placed as steeply as possible. Guardrail contact is also no rarity on this track. Pits and paddock are sometimes created as floating platforms in the harbor. The wall which is constructed close by to the track has already lead to one fatality, that of Lorenzo Bandini in 1967. Despite the numerous challenges, many unexpected drivers have still managed to make it to the finish line with the help of a good team.

Monte Carlo offers an extraordinary experience for the spectators as well. On the shores of the beautiful Cote d'Azur they can inhale the smells of gasoline and sea air, sip a cocktail in elegant bars alongside stars and starlets or risk all their travel funds in a game of roulette at the legendary casino.
