Hockenheimring

The Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg (formerly known as Hockenheimring, Kurpfalzring) is a motor racing circuit in the palatinate town of Hockenheim south of Mannheim. It is located in the western Schwetzinger Hardt.

Since February 2002, the length of the former high-speed track was significantly reduced, the south stand was extended and the new Mercedes-Grandstand overlooking the North Bend was built. A tight combination of curves in the northern area and a switchback to the long Parabolika created new overtaking opportunities for the formula 1 drivers. To increase the profits of the circuit the attachment of another grandstand in the Motodrom located at the South Bend and the construction of the Mercedes grandstand increased the seating capacity from 83,000 to 120,000.
