Circuit Hermanos Rodriguez

2015 saw the championship return to Mexico City for the first time in 23 years and while this race at the redeveloped Hermanos Rodriguez circuit won’t feature the famous (and somewhat feared) Peraltada corner it keeps the great atmosphere Mexican GPs were known for.

The highlight of the track is probably the stadium section, where the track leads through a baseball stadium packed with enthusiastic fans.

A big challenge is the altitude. The circuit is situated 2200m above sea level, which results in an enormous loss of engine power.

Mexico City is one of the world’s biggest cities, with a population of about 23 million people. It’s a fabulous, fun metropolis. It’s got tremendous food – particularly the street food – the people are very welcoming and the sites are amazing.

A must-do for visitors is to make your way to the city centre, the Zócalo, where you’ll find the ruins of the Templo Mayor of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan. Also unmissable is a trip 50km north east of the city to the pyramids and ruins of Teotihuacan.
