History

Bahrain International Circuit is located at Sakhir, 30 km south-west of the island's capital, Manama. The Hermann Tilke designed circuit contains no less than five track layouts within one complex.

The circuit offers its own unique challenges, with slow-speed corners at the end of long straights making it tough on brakes and a difficult circuit to overtake. Since 2014 the Grand Prix is held as “Night Race”.

A unique problem is sand that might get blown on the circuit. To counteract this a special adhesive is sprayed on the sand around the track.

Winner 2016: Nico Rosberg

Currency: Bahrain-Dinar
